Red granite, 50 x 24 x 6 inches on a buff sandstone base. A high-powered water jet, giving a grain that plays against the vertical lines, cut the texture on this piece. Chiseled areas, split stone and a polished curved surface at lower right also are seen. This sculpture is designed to stand against a wall as a type of deep relief. It would be best indoors where a continuous light brings out the texture. . |
