"Rock Person"
Breckenridge, Colorado |
| |
Granite boulder, 7 x 4 x 4 feet (center stone), 1994. |
| |
The artist found a very large glacial boulder in the area, split it, and carved the negative of a human figure into it. Portions are polished inside. People can fit into it in this highly visited spot. The sculpture is an interactive symbol of how people came from the environment and fit into it. This sculpture sits on the plaza next to the playground and river art pieces that all form the "Miner's Dream" group. Town of Breckenridge Art in Public Places Program. |
