  "Breckenridge Play Sculptures"

The Miner's Dream Sculpture is a collection of eight objects, five designed for children to play on in a sand area.   The play sculptures are:
"Human Scale," an interactive playground sculpture, 8 x 8 x 8 ft., is made with platforms that people can stand on like a giant miner's balance. Old iron wheels could be turned to so that a child could move stone animals as counterweights and balance with an adult. The scale is made of corten and stainless steel, limestone animals, wood, and iron wheels.  Included on the back of the large scale is a small "Three-Way Scale," designed for more complex balancing with sand.

"Slide and Steps," glacial boulder, 4 x 9 x 8 ft., polished for sliding.

"History House," stone and wood, sunken so kids can play in the attic.

"Dream Rails," used for balancing, are actual narrow-gauge rails that are historical memorials to the railroad that once came to Breckenridge.

"Rock Family," four boulders tightly mortised together Incan style for climbing (not pictured).
