Mary Culkin was an inspirational and innovative founder of the Mapletree School for preschool children lacking supportive home environments. The memorial uses a curving love seat wall to link a maple tree with a bench for an adult and child (indicated by a stepping stone in front of the bench). The bench form is inset into the park. It overlooks a playground and expansive view. |
